Natal and Navamsa charts: what’s the difference?

Want to learn about your destiny? Will I be rich? Will I be famous? What kind of career am I best suited for? Will I have children? Will I get married? When am I going to meet my partner? The answers lie in your natal chart (birth chart), as well as your Navamsa chart.

In Vedic Astrology, we can look at two aspects of one’s destiny and karma. The natal chart is based on the moment one took first breath, and the Navamsa is the marriage/second half of life chart. The natal chart tells about characteristics of one’s childhood and young adulthood, including karmas that are likely to unfold based on the dasha system of karmic ripening. On the other hand, the Navamsa can tell us about our marriage partner and how life will change after meeting them. The Navamsa can also show us what our second half of life will be like: life after 40 years of age.

Have you ever wondered why some people seem to have an incredible early life, such as child actors or musicians, and then completely fall from fame and fortune as they become mature adults or get married? Conversely, what about people like J. K. Rowling, who have a really difficult first half of life and then skyrocket to fame and fortune later on? The answer can often be seen in comparing the natal and Navamsa charts. Someone might have a fairly weak natal chart, but their Navamsa is dynamite.
